Po meri čoveka / Made for humans

How many times have I heard these days that St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful town in the world. I think it is the most often spoken sentence. However, I think that is a few who said it came from the official vehicle and walked along the street. If they had done so they would see wide streets full of cars that run like on a highway, and very few people. I do not believe that Peter the Great will recognize the city that was built in a century. He would miss people, like me, because what is a city without people, and I would add cafes and street restaurant with people who are relaxed, smiling and socializing. While we were staying at Vasilievsky island where everything is supposed to be a relaxed, heavy traffic was there regardless of whether it is morning run, returning from a convention or a late night walk. Perhaps the situation is best described by 16 years old Radmila who waited us at the airport when she said that prefer to return to the small town from which they parents came. Likely because I do not understand Russia and its big cities, because they are not made for humans.
